It’s been about 10 years now that Lucki has given us countless tapes and memorable moments. Since his big pivot in style in Body High, Lucki has surpassed most of, if not all of his peers, becoming the underground’s uncrowned king. But it wasn’t until the release of the first Freewave project in 2015 that people began to realize the extent of his work. Remixing and reworking over nostalgic samples, he was able to tap into something not many could or ever will. Now, with Freewave 3 finally out, we can give it the appraisal it deserves.
With a phenomenal production lineup, from Earl Sweatshirt, ChaseTheMoney, Wiardon, Brent Rambo, Oxy, 100Banxan, Art Gallery, Mulatto, Cash Cobain, Marcusbasquiat and StoopidXool, Lucki is backed with everything he needs to deliver some of the best wordplay and storytelling we’ve heard from him thus far. All in all Freewave 3 is a perfect installation to an already legendary series. Make sure you check it out below and let me know what you think in the comments.
